i knew going into this that above all else this would be a test of my ability to swing the kettlebell. even still i was unprepared for it to take 8 sets or the toll those 100 swings would take on my body. chalk would have helped as it was not only hard to swing in the later sets but the moisture was making it hard to hold on. 30 seconds vanished quickly between efforts and i was immediately reminded of the 30/30 gym jones workouts i've done in the past. my squat jumps are still just barely deep enough and need more work to be black and white. even though 51 was more than i thought i'd get to start 3 sets was about what i had anticipated there. situps was the surprise of the day. i had no idea i could keep a steady pace and do 100 non stop. a nice confidence builder for the future. after the swings i had zero desire to move on to the preplanned pushups and considered aborting the 4th and final part of this simple workout. 30 seconds wasn't quite long enough to think of anything better to do so i had no choice but to dive in. warning sirens deafened my ears and red flags littered the area after only reaching 36 during the first attempt. this was going to be a struggle. i was brought to my knees by the worst seizing and locking up of my triceps i've ever experienced. after the third set i was having spasms during recovery and didn't know if it was even smart to continue. my fear was a tear but i kept going and made it out unscathed. i'm anticipating elevated levels of soreness in my upper body for a few days but this was worth it. always been a fan of primarily body weight scenarios and this only increases the addiction.
