it took about all i had to finish the final set of squats unbroken. there is no reason i can't improve in this area. squats and deadlift are the two movements where i feel as though i've got significant room for strength gains. i'm physically ready to attack work like i did a few weeks ago but i can tell i've lost a significant amount of strength, speed, and stamina. excessive rest days followed by a little over a week of inactivity takes a toll on the system quick. let the rebuilding commence.
on another note i'm seriously reconsidering my current training model. recent events and comparitive analysis has left me with more questions than answeres. more on this later...
losing track of work completed was problematic only due to the experiment at hand. shane doesn't do any of the types or kinds of training i do. he's about my same weight and climbs regularly. unable to execute a simple air squat let alone one with pvc meant nothing when it came to his ability to keep moving for this particular six minutes. the question is this... how much does this all really translate into the "real world"? we know it does but are we wasting some of our time? if so, how much? this is an interesting topic that has only recently began to plague my thoughts. the more i learn the more questions i have. interesting...
