with the imaginary competition of the pace boat set at 1:50 splits i ventured into unchartered waters. with the score being total work time i decided to test the depths with the first row in order to determine pace for the other two. intentionally saving a small percentage of ability seemed to be worth it in the long run. the amount of time i could have shaved from going all out during the first effort would eventually be trumped by added seconds in the other outings. in the end it didn't matter. although i feel like i "gamed" to near my potential the c2 is a cruel and unforgiving maching. this setup reduced me to a worthless pile of flesh flopping around and writhing on the floor in my own demise trying everything in my power to eliminate the impending feeling of complete quadricep meltdown. i'm not sure how long it took but for the discomfort to subside but it reminded me of leg cramps as a kid. middle of the night, or first thing in the morning, it won't and can't matter. i'll be back for more as this type of work is going to be the primary vehicle for reaching my 2k goal of sub 7:00, and unfortunately for me, it's going to take more seat time than anticipated.
