part 1

i originally wanted to hit :45 for each interval but realized after the second attempt that maintaining under :50 would be a more realistic goal. the rower is unforgiving and brutally consisitent. you always get back what you give and like others have said, there really are no surprises at the end. continuous feedback from the screen of death lets you know exactly how things will end. next time i'll strategize a little better and shoot for all 8 intervals at or below :49 and see what happens.

part 2

7 rounds plus 2 clapping push ups

i thought this to be a relatively evenly laid out set of work before starting but in the end the squat jumps stood out as most challenging with the rest being a little unbalanced. this scenario was thrown together in haste and looking back i think we would have made some changes. there needed to be closer to 5 or 6 clapping push ups and the load for the power cleans would have been better had it not been as tempting to touch and go. maybe even changing the order would help, something like the following might have produced a better result:

165lb power clean x 4
clapping push ups x 6
squat jumps x 8
sit ups x 10

we'll see...
