like it or not, in today's online social landscape efforts are made both consciously and subconsciously to promote, follow, or lead an ideal or cause. propaganda is omnipresent and the kool aid gets stronger with each batch and iteration. one may sit on the sidelines racked by the proverbial fence or make a conscious and deliberate effort (however insignificant) to dilute the blood red shark infested waters to a paler shade of pink (or green), bringing out what many consider to be the true color(s). for the time being there is one primary brand, an unintended monopoly of sorts, in which all "intense" efforts now fall under a single name or umbrella. sometimes getting out of the rain and playing it safe is the right thing to do, no lack of respect for those who have made that choice, but embracing the loose and encompassing, ever expanding, definition of training is something i have a hard time with. wasn't it a different and unique online social thunderstorm that got everyone excited in the beginning? why and how you were introduced and who you owe or don't owe will one day be not only unimportant but a completely forgotten idealogical question. when the growing cult of followers becomes so large that action of any sort becomes synonymous with the master control program what will there be to maintain value in a certification or affiliation? exclusivity increases value and although i don't disagree with spreading the word, one day, the bubble will pop, it always does. in the end it's not a question of if, but when. what's important is the effort and how we learn to extract more of our potential. call it what you want, follow who you must, just find a way to get it done.
