take some time to honestly consider how the choices we make as individuals either hinder or aid in reaching our stated goals and objectives. whether it be the more obvious self sabotage of improper nutrition, sleep deprivation, and inactivity or the more subtle and easily hidden mistake of giving any less than 100%. pacing and drifting off your preconceived notion of where you should be relative to another persons fitness could be attributed to the natural human tendency to be comparative to others, especially those in your local pond. however natural it may be to base our success or failure in relationship to others is irrelevant to the reality of the results of our own personal choices. the real fight, battle, or race should be against the figure just in front of us, the one that truly matters, that of our potential self. we should all remember this the next time we find oursevles at a crossroad between doing "enough" and doing all that we truly can. progress has no relationship to anyone but ourselves.
