FORCED EXTENDED RECOVERY

.
even thought it's the last thing i want to do, it's been more than a few months since i took some real time off and let my body and mind truly recover from insular gym. everyone has a different opinion on how much and when to recover. i personally don't believe it's as black and white of an issue as some would have you believe, far from it. my take is that i don't react too quickly or strongly to any feelings in either direction. sometimes we need to test ourselves and work under less than ideal mental or physical conditions and other times, like i've concluded i'm currently in, it's best to completely remove ones self from the equation. for me it seems as though i need to take 5 or more days off a few times a year to reset the system. this gives me time to rethink and reconsider what i'm doing and why. not only do i end up with even more motivation and focus on the other side but possibly more important is the ample time to determine if minor aches and pains will heal with rest or if there are larger issues at play.

in the past i've yet to regret this choice once it's been made and doubt if i will this time either. relentless pursuit of pain, exploration, and self knowledge will resume no earlier than saturday. six days should more than suffice for this temporary regrouping phase. after that, it's all out.
