PAUSE, EXPLODE, AND HANG ON

the pause squat is a brutally painful tool that will be used again. although i wasn't sure if it lent itself to a timed effort i think it could. especially if one were to time the individual squat efforts, measuring the recovery time between reps. clapping push ups would have been more effective at 10+ reps for all 5 rounds. as written they were unnecessary filler accomplishing nothing. it was challenging to go unbroken on the ring inversions and get the final few reps during the first three sets. although it doesn't work so well in a timed environment, this gymnastics based movement is an upperbody and core strengthening tool that should be revisited regularly.
