the pause push up is similar to it's recently popularized cousin, "hand release" and only differs in that the objective is not speed but power and explosivity. starting from the top into a controlled descent and exhale with a full and deep breath at the bottom followed by a quick and violent press back to the plank position.

choose your methods and modes of execution based on the goal for the day. there are numerous paths to a wide variety of objectives and goals. our job is to match them up appropriately in order to reach the destination as efficiently as possible.
