1:27.50 (sled-40, wheelbarrow-21, bag-27)

nothing in comparison to the original prescription but effective nonetheless. this effort capped a 6 day batch of toxic self destruction of which each days efforts compounded upon the previous resulting in more of a "for completion" mindset for today. opportunities can't be wasted in this current reality and if that means pushing into the realm of overtraining then so be it. i'll rest when i have to and train hard when i can, even if it means doing so with less than ideal recovery.
as i tugged on the sled for the first time it was apparent that this is an effective tool. one must find the appropriate gear or risk an inefficient use of energy resulting in premature fatigue (too high) or increased friction (too low). that being said on thing is for sure, sled = worth it. the wheelbarrow was similar in many ways, increased rates of locomotion had to be balanced with a steady pace and the proper mix of limited rest. this task resulted in a more even tax on the system than anticipated, quite possibly the worst of the three. an 80lb sandbag is just heavy enough that if kept in the same position too long it begins to feel like a 250lb american is riding on your shoulders like only small children should. cramps, kinks, and general uncomfortableness become the norm. limiting drops to only 3 kept the pace up and got me across the finish line in just under an hour and a half. a full 30 min longer than i had estimated. fun stuff.
