take the standard 3-5 rounds for time and file it away as history. a barbaric and overused system has led to a lack of creativity and therefore a disservice to the community. logistics in a group setting play a large role in what people think they can program but the limits are self imposed. too many take the easy way out. yes, it's simple and effective but i believe there's more to "fitness" than "physical" fitness. what's wrong with changing up the reps / rounds when progressing through a set of work? is it a bad idea to do some basic math while fatigued? i contend that there's more to training than what an individual can do with their body. exercising ones mental fitness is as, if not more, important than the physical. although important, the fact of the matter is that the ability to complete straightforward physical activity at full throttle is a one dimensional weapon. combine output with mental awareness and capability and only then do you even begin to have a solution for the "unknown and unknowable". think about it, what makes more sense in the "real world"? a reflex action without thought or consideration for the variables and consequences or the more complete action resulting from a quick assessment of the situation with a clear and capable mind. some theories are unprovable until it's too late but one thing is for sure, this scenario is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to working and thinking under stress. i plan to explore things even deeper.
