before earlier this year the jerk had been an elusive movement for me. well, actually i didn't know it was and had little idea of how far off i was with it. i still need many hours of practice before considering myself capable but thanks to a trip to FL a few months back and some practice and conversation since then, i'm a whole lot closer than ever before.
this effort was important in beginning to test my limits within the movement. i'm interested in finding out what load makes my form fail. after video analysis of today's efforts i now know it's a load higher than 145. i would have figured as much and expect technical failure to occur in the 165-185 range but again, this needs tested.
finally, this practice session turned out to be more of a true workout than originally anticipated. the format worked well and had i another 5 minutes i would have loaded 165 and test drove it for a few rounds. next time.
